Karin was born and raised in Maryland. In 1981, she moved here with her husband Jeff to start a new way of life. Today, Karin and Jeff have their own businesses and live outside of Eureka with their two children. Karin, who has studied art since she was a child, is an artist by profession and by nature. She is skilled in a variety of media including charcoal, oil, watercolor, textiles, metals, and film production. She works from her studio outside of Eureka, using the mountains, colors, people and the natural world as her inspiration. Karin is an active supporter of the arts. Over the years she has taught a variety of art classes; and is one of the founders of the Creative Arts Center. Karin has won numerous awards for a series of children's videos that she produced; and has participated in several juried art exhibitions.
